Our Members

Invisible Publishing is a not-for-profit publishing company that produces contemporary works of fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry. We publish material that is engaging, literary, current, and uniquely Canadian. We're small in scale, but we take our work, and our mission, seriously. We produce culturally relevant titles that are well written, beautifully designed, and affordable. Invisible Publishing has been in operation for more than 7 years. Since releasing our first fiction titles in the spring of 2007, our catalogue has come to include works of graphic fiction and non-fiction, pop culture biographies, experimental poetry and prose. Invisible Publishing continues to produce high quality literary works, we're also home to the Bibliophonic series and the Snare imprint.

Island Studies Press is housed in the Institute of Island Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island. Founded in 1985, we publish a mix of academic and trade books that appeal to a wide audience. Our focus is on island culture, economy, and environment.

Primarily a literary press with several imprints: J. Gordon Shillingford Publishing (Non-fiction); Watson & Dwyer (Canadian History); Scirocco Drama (Theatre); and The Muses' Company (Poetry). Domestic & US Distribution: UTP.

For over 25 years, Kegedonce Press has been crafting beautiful books that involve Indigenous Peoples at all levels of production. We support the enterprise of Indigenous writers, artists, graphic illustrators, designers, editors, printers, and others in related fields. Founded in 1993 by Anishinaabe writer Kateri Akiwenzie-Damm, Kegedonce is committed to the publication of beautifully written and designed Indigenous literature, both nationally and internationally. Kegedonce has published works by some of the most widely known contemporary Indigenous writers in Canada, including Joanne Arnott, Cherie Dimaline, Marilyn Dumont, Aaron Paquette, Sharron Proulx-Turner, Gregory Scofield, and Richard Van Camp, among many others. One of only three dedicated Indigenous publishers in Canada, Kegedonce Press is the only Indigenous publishing company in Ontario. Indigenous-owned and operated, Kegedonce is based at Neyaashiinigmiing, on the traditional territory of the Chippewas of Nawash First Nation.

Kids Can Press, a leading Canadian-owned children’s book publisher, is the home of beloved, best-selling series such as Franklin the Turtle, Scaredy Squirrel and CitizenKid. Our catalog includes over 700 picture books, novels, graphic novels and nonfiction books for children and young adults. Since 1973, Kids Can Press books have enjoyed critical acclaim around the world, and our talented authors and illustrators have been recognized by countless awards juries. Over the years our books have won eleven Governor General’s Literary Awards, an Ezra Jack Keats Award and make regular appearances on “best books of the year” recommendations. Latitude 46 Publishing was established in 2015 with a goal to publish distinctive literary works by established and emerging authors with a connection to northern Ontario, as well as narratives about the unique landscape and culture of the region. We seek to uncover the untold stories of the North, both fiction and non-fiction, although we’re equally interested in representing diverse storytellers who can bring ideas and facts to life. Latitude 46 Publishing is located in Sudbury, ON, along the 46th parallel.

LLP is a trade publishing specializing in literary fiction, trade non-fiction, innovative short Singles essays, and occasionally cartoons, all in both print and electronic formats. We have a special love of short books, novella-length fiction and the kinds of essays you can still find in the pages of The New Yorker but not too many other places,“ and edgy topics; but what we love most are good books that might not see the light of day if it were not for LLP. This is a publishing programme of great quality, and it has made LLP one of the most exciting launches on the literary publishing scene in recent years.

MacIntyre Purcell Publishing Inc (MPP Inc.) is the publisher of the bestselling Book of Everything, Book of Musts and 101 series, featuring destinations across Canada and the US. In 2011, MPP Inc. published its first children's books as well as three titles of non-fiction and is now open to receiving manuscripts in those areas. Domestic Distribution: IPG.

Memorial University Press has published scholarly books on the North Atlantic region for more than 60 years. Aligning with the geographic reality and research priorities of Memorial University, the press has a special, but not exclusive, focus on issues pertinent to Newfoundland and Labrador, and Atlantic Canada more broadly. We publish illuminating and diverse research on topics ranging from Indigenous issues, to energy and the environment, to food security, to fisheries, to folklore, by authors from academic institutions across Canada and internationally, as well as independent scholars and non-academic experts and practitioners.
