Book*hug is a radically optimistic Canadian independent literary press working at the forefront of contemporary book culture. Our mandate is to publish innovative and contemporary books of literary fiction, literary nonfiction, poetry, and literature in translation.

Bradan Press connects readers worldwide with Scottish Gaelic language and culture. We are also increasingly engaging with other minoritized languages and cultures in Atlantic Canada. Founded in 2016, Bradan Press is proud to carry on the nearly 200-year-old tradition of Gaelic publishing in Nova Scotia. We publish children’s books, poetry, graphic novels, academic, and non-fiction including the Tattoo Handbook Series. “Bradan” means “salmon” in Gaelic and refers to the Salmon of Wisdom in Gaelic oral tradition.

Breakwater Books was founded in 1973 to showcase the vibrant literary culture in Newfoundland and Labrador. Since then, we’ve continued our commitment to Newfoundland and Labrador writers while expanding our focus to feature emerging and well-known authors from across Canada and overseas. Breakwater publishes award-winning writing in all literary genres—fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, art, young adult and children’s books, as well as cookbooks, guidebooks and educational resources. BWL Publishing Inc. (formerly Books We Love Ltd.) is a publisher of genre fiction by seasoned professional authors in digital and print. BWL publishes historical fiction, romance fiction in all categories, fantasy, science fiction, mystery and detective fiction, suspense and crime thrillers, western romance and western history, as well as young adult in every genre with a focus on Canadian historical fiction.

Caitlin Press publishes culturally significant books, including fiction, non-fiction (both historical and creative), and poetry. Occasionally we will produce a children's, young adult or a crossover title.

The Canadian Museum of History’s publishing program enhances the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Canadian history and identity. Its Mercury Series, co-published with the University of Ottawa Press, focuses on peer-reviewed academic research in the disciplines of Canadian history, archaeology, culture and ethnology; while its Souvenir Catalogue Series, distributed by the University of Toronto Press, explores exhibitions at both the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum. Additional series are published with Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of British Columbia, and the Gregg Centre at the University of New Brunswick.

Canadian Scholars has more than 35 years of experience providing instructors and students in higher education with books, supplementary materials, and custom coursebooks of outstanding quality and value. Founded in 1972, Women’s Press has played an integral role in the proliferation of feminist writing in Canada.
