Annick Press was founded in 1975 with a mandate to publish quality literature for children and youth. Our publishing program includes young adult novels, illustrated non-fiction and picture books. Now in its thirty-fourth year of publishing, Anvil Press has firmly established itself as a publisher of progressive, contemporary Canadian literature. National—and local—in its vision, Anvil remains committed to its East Vancouver roots, and doesn’t shy away from work from the wrong side of the tracks. ARP Books was founded in 1996 in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Their mandate is to publish a dynamic combination of cultural, fiction, and non-fiction titles with an emphasis on progressive political analysis of contemporary issues while encouraging innovative new writing. Distributed in Canada by ListDistCo and represented by The Canadian Manda Group (trade) and Brunswick Books (academic). Distributed and represented in the US by AK Press.

Arsenal Pulp Press publishes literary fiction and non-fiction, graphic novels, cultural studies, LGBT literature, cookbooks, craft books, books about British Columbia, and books for young adults. Based at Massey College at the University of Toronto, the Art Canada Institute is a not-for-profit educational arts organization and a registered Canadian charity. Launched in 2013, the Art Canada Institute is dedicated to making Canadian art history a contemporary conversation, and is the only national institution whose mandate is to promote the study of an inclusive multi-vocal Canadian art history to as broad an audience as possible, in both English and French, within Canada and internationally. The ACI works with Canada’s leading art historians, curators, and visual culture experts who are dedicated to the creation of authoritative original content on the people, themes, and topics that have defined Canadian art history. All ACI publications are peer reviewed, reflecting current scholarship, yet they are also accessible to a general audience.

At Bay Press is an independent, award-winning publisher. We strive to seek out new work by both established and undiscovered authors and artists to help bring their work to light. We are known for publishing original, thoughtful titles that are exceptionally well-designed. In addition to our trade list, we also release three - five handmade, limited edition titles a year. Athabasca University Press is Canada’s first open access scholarly press. Founded in 2007 with the principal aim of reducing barriers to knowledge and increasing access to scholarship, AU Press is committed to bringing the work of emerging and established scholars to the public. With both an open access journal and monograph program, we make a substantial contribution to a growing body of academic and literary work that is made available to a global readership at no cost to the reader. Founded in 1994 with Bayeux’s debut title being short-listed for the 1994 Booker Prize, Bayeux Arts has consistently tried to “publish beautiful books that build bridges across cultures”. To date, Bayeux has published over 150 titles spanning Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, Children’s and Young Adults, Arts, Architecture, Social Sciences and political commentary.

As a publisher of books for schools and public libraries, we take our role to provide Canadian content seriously. We strive to represent all of the people, places and culture in the land we call Canada with the upmost respect and accuracy. Our books are geared toward inspiring all readers to become life long learners, critical thinkers and responsible citizens.

Between the Lines publishes nonfiction books that expose and challenge oppression in our society. We aim to amplify the struggles of Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities; migrants; women; queer folks; and working-class people. BTL is proudly leftwing and the books we publish reflect our activist roots and our commitment to social justice struggles. BTL authors are academics, journalists, artists, and activists—all our authors hope their books will spark political and social change. BTL publishes books books in the following categories: politics and public policy issues, social issues, health, gender and sexuality, race and racism, development studies, education, the environment, labour, technology, media, history and culture.
