Art Canada Institute

Based at Massey College at the University of Toronto, the Art Canada Institute is a not-for-profit educational arts organization and a registered Canadian charity. Launched in 2013, the Art Canada Institute is dedicated to making Canadian art history a contemporary conversation, and is the only national institution whose mandate is to promote the study of an inclusive multi-vocal Canadian art history to as broad an audience as possible, in both English and French, within Canada and internationally. The ACI works with Canada’s leading art historians, curators, and visual culture experts who are dedicated to the creation of authoritative original content on the people, themes, and topics that have defined Canadian art history. All ACI publications are peer reviewed, reflecting current scholarship, yet they are also accessible to a general audience.

Founded in 1994 with Bayeux’s debut title being short-listed for the 1994 Booker Prize, Bayeux Arts has consistently tried to “publish beautiful books that build bridges across cultures”. Between The Lines

Between the Lines publishes nonfiction books that expose and challenge oppression in our society. We aim to amplify the struggles of Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities; migrants; women; queer folks; and working-class people. BTL is proudly leftwing and the books we publish reflect our activist roots and our commitment to social justice struggles. BTL authors are academics, journalists, artists, and activists—all our authors hope their books will spark political and social change.
