Our Members

Pajama Press is a small literary press with big ideas. We endeavour to publish titles of exceptional quality that will receive wide critical acclaim and awards; our books are designed to successfully appeal to children, young adults, librarians, teachers, and parents. We produce all formats popular in children's publishing across a fairly broad range of genres: picture books, board books for the very young, middle-grade novels, young adult novels, and non-fiction for all juvenile categories. We do not publish genre fiction or series. Pajama Press publishes about 10 books each year for a national and international market.

Palimpsest Press publishes poetry, literary fiction, and non-fiction titles that deal with poetics, cultural criticism, and literary biography. They look for poetry that displays technical mastery, precise language, and an authentic voice, and fiction that is rich in imagery, well crafted, and focused on character development. Their non-fiction titles are essays or memoirs written by poets, and books that examine Canadian poetry and the Canadian cultural landscape. Palimpsest Press’ mission is to publish high quality work in beautifully designed and collectible volumes. Their belief is that a book should be an object of beauty and inspiration. Their objectives are to seek out the best new and established voices in Canadian literature and have committed at least 20% of their titles to authors living with disability. Palimpsest is committed to maintaining high editorial and production standards, ensuring their trade books are well distributed, kept in print, and promoted through readings, events and advertising.

Palimpsest's imprint, Anstruther Books, is named after a lake in the North Kawarthas and curated by Jim Johnstone. Anstruther Books publishes poetry from a diverse cross-section of the Canadian literary community. This imprint specializes in poetry that is tapped into the speed and spirit of the 21st century, and includes political, socially-minded, and transgressive poetry, as well as conceptual books that maintain a lyric bent.

Playwrights Canada Press is a publisher of new Canadian plays. We exist to publish Canadian plays as well as, from time to time, theatre history, criticism, and biography. Through this we endeavour to raise the profile of Canadian theatre and theatre practitioners, promote dramatic literature, and contribute to the Canadian theatrical canon. Playwrights Canada Press strives to publish diverse and engaging Canadian plays and dramatic criticism of literary merit.

Radiant Press is a literary press located on Treaty 4 Territory in Regina, Saskatchewan. They are committed to publishing exceptional books by emerging and established authors, regionally and nationally. Radiant publishes and promotes Canadian authors and artists with a special emphasis on the province of Saskatchewan. Their books include poetry, fiction, and non-fiction as well as those that defy genre.

Renaissance was founded in May 2013 by a group of authors and designers who wanted to publish and market those stories which don’t always fit neatly in a genre, or a niche, or a demographic. Like the happy panbibliophiles we are, we opened our submissions, with no other guideline than finding a Canadian book we would fall in love with enough that we would want to publish and sell. Today, this is still very true; however, we’ve also noticed an interesting trend in what we tended to publish. It turns out that we are naturally drawn to the voices of those who are members of a marginalized group, and these are the voices we want to continue to uplift. At Renaissance, we do things differently. We are passionate about books, and we care as much about our authors enjoying the publishing process as we do about our readers enjoying a great, professional quality and affordable product on the platform they prefer.
