Making Audiobooks Accessible: Challenges and Opportunities

March 6 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

ACP is pleased to host Mélissa Castilloux of CELA (Centre for Equitable Library Access) for a presentation summarizing the organization’s research into accessible commercial audiobooks: who is using them, how, and how much?

This presentation will share insights from the Accessible Commercial Audiobooks research project, funded by Accessibility Standards Canada, which invited participants with and without print disabilities to use audiobooks with specific accessibility features and describe their experiences. The session will discuss the current state of audiobook practices, the needs of readers with and without print disabilities, and explore some practical solutions—both in the short and long term—while keeping in mind the realities of the commercial audiobook industry.

Members will have received registration information via email. Please contact Ishta Mercurio if you have any questions.
