I’m a copy editor and proofreader with twenty years of experience. My interests include short fiction, autobiography, and scholarly nonfiction. I’m best known for my work with books by and about Indigenous people.

I’m proud of my work on the award-winning nonfiction titles Aki-wayn-zih: A Person as Worthy as the Earth by Eli Baxter and Cold Case North: The Search for James Brady and Absolom Halkett by Michael Nest, Deanna Reder, and Eric Bell. I love editing fiction such as The Night Piece by André Alexis and Satellite Love by Genki Ferguson, as well as multidisciplinary works such as the award-winning NISHGA by Jordan Abel. I completed the Master of Publishing program at Simon Fraser University and enjoyed a work placement with Theytus Books. A version of my graduate thesis, “Gathering Knowledges to Inform Best Practices in Indigenous Publishing,” was published in ARIEL: A Review of International English Literature.

I’m a recent graduate of Humber College’s postgraduate Creative Book Publishing program, with honours, but I have decades of design experience. I’m fully verse in working both to print specifications, and digital requirements.

Simon Thibault has worked as a Developmental Editor focusing on LGBTQ+, food, and Acadian titles at Nimbus Publishing, as well as a manuscript editor at Nimbus. His work has appeared in places such as The Globe and Mail, Huff Post, XTRA!, as well was radio work for CBC and Radio-Canada. He has also been a judge for the James Beard Awards as well as the IACP Cookbook Awards.

Clare Thorbes is a certified French to English translator, with more than 25 years of experience in translating government policy, business, legal and personal documents from French and Spanish to English. Her translation of Capital coolinaire, an essay by Nora Bouazzouni, was published in issue 94 of Ellipse Magazine. Her non-fiction translations include a theologian’s book on an ancient artifact and its sequel. She was a founding board member of the Victoria Interpreters’ and Translators’ Association (VITA), where she managed multilingual translation projects. Clare is also a freelance editor, former co-owner of a small press, and a published writer, with essays in three anthologies on creativity: Inside Creativity Coaching and The Creativity Workbook for Coaches and Creatives, both edited by Eric Maisel, PhD, and The Coach’s Guide to Completing Creative Work, edited by Eric Maisel and Lynda Monk.

I am a Toronto-based freelance editor with experience in proofreading, copy editing, and supplement creation/editing, particularly in Higher Education publishing. I am a graduate of the Innis College Writing and Rhetoric program at the University of Toronto, and I have over one year’s experiencing working in-house as an editorial assistant at a reference publisher.

I’m a theologian of disability, liturgist, and poet from Prince Edward Island, Canada. I specialize in proofreading, line editing, and copy editing. I’ve edited some short stories, and self-published “Contours of Eternity,” a book of poetry (2013); I’ve also published a devotional booklet on “Disability, Faith, and Justice” through the Student Christian Movement of Canada (2016), co-written and -edited a Guide for Accessible Congregations through the Ontario College of Art and Design (2018), and published three academic articles through the Political Theology Network (2019), the Journal of Religion and Disability (2019), and the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion (2020).
