ACP Roundtable on Diversity and Inclusion Best Practices

ACP Roundtable on Diversity and Inclusion Best Practices

The ACP Diversity and Inclusion Committee is organizing a roundtable on diversity and inclusion best practices on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, 2:00 – 3:30 pm EDT. Members and staff at affiliate organizations are encouraged to participate and learn about how their colleagues are approaching and integrating diversity and inclusion practices into their work.

The session will begin with a panel moderated by committee co-chair Annie Gibson (Playwrights Canada Press) with ACP members David Caron (ECW Press), Meagan Dyer (UBC Press), Brian Lam (Arsenal Pulp Press), and Rebecca Rose (Breakwater Books) who will share their experiences in shaping initiatives within their wide range of companies with a focus on editorial and acquisition practices. Participants will then be invited to breakout rooms to discuss their own experiences and perspectives, with prompts to help move the discussion. Share your questions through the registration form, or bring them with you to the panel and breakout discussions!

Following the breakouts, we will regroup and share summaries of our member-guided discussions with the larger group. The results will also support the ACP’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee’s development of an equitable practices guide for independent Canadian publishers. Aside from these summary notes, this roundtable will not be recorded.

Please also review ACP’s Code of Conduct ahead of participating.

Registration closes Friday, October 8, 2021. If you are staff at an ACP member firm or affilaite organization and are interested in participating and have not received the registration notice, please contact Jazz Cook, Membership Services Coordinator for a link to the registration form.
