The McGill-Queen's University Press, a leading publisher in academic and scholarly books, is currently seeking a Managing Editor. The responsibilities of the position include managing contracts with freelance editors for MQUP manuscripts (approximately 120 per year), coordinating the editing process, liaising with authors and the production team during the production phase and ensuring that projects stay on track and meet their projected in-stock dates. In addition, the incumbent will be required to edit small projects demanding immediate attention and assist in the preparation of catalogue and jacket copy.

The successful candidate will be a university graduate with a minimun of 5 years experience working in publishing in an editorial capacity and knowledge of the production process including e-book production. Previous experience as a managing editor will be considered an asset. S/he must possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, be capable of working autonomously and taking initiative, and demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail.
